bank holiday weekend plans?

yaaaaaaaaaaay, for bank holiday weekends! we even have a little sunshine here today :)

so, what have you got planned?

i’m off to help out at a children’s ‘batty’ craft workshop this afternoon to celebrate european bat weekend!

we’re making bat kites, bat brooches, and bat fridge magnets and also going on a hunt for signs of bats, so if you’re in perth this afternoon pop along to huntingtower castle between 2pm and 4pm – all activities are free!

here's a link to the bat conservation trust for more information about our lovely bats.

have a lovely bank holiday weekend, hope the sun is shining for you too :)

Sunday, August 9

and the sun shone ...

well, i made it through my second stall! and this one wasn't half as nerve-wracking as my first which is a good sign :)

we were so lucky with the weather yesterday as it didn't rain until after we got home! it was a lovely sunny day and the market was wonderful, with a really good mix of stalls and produce. i met some lovely people and was pleased to see some familiar faces too. one lady really stood out as the 'customer' of the day though - she walked up to my stall with her friend, had a quick glance around, harrumphed, looked at her friend and exclaimed "felt!" and walked off!!! it was very funny.

it was another lovely, sunny day today so i set up my make-shift studio to get all of my new work photographed so that i could start updating my folksy shop. goodness knows what the neighbours must have thought when i started hauling out the ironing board along with the tripod!

hope everyone is enjoying some sunshine this weekend :)

a rainy, blustery summer market

so, i had my first stall - assisted, thankfully, by my lovely mum :)

it was quite a long day and the weather wasn't the kindest - wind and rain, which isn't really the best of conditions for felt. but we did have some sunny spells in the afternoon.

it didn't seem to deter everyone though as the market was quite busy. although i didn't cover the cost of my stall, i did sell lots of my new work (and some of my favourite pieces too - it's always hard to let go!).

it was also a lovely way to spend time with my mum and we met so many lovely people, all of the stall holders were really friendly, passing on lots of great advice too.

Thursday, August 6

still busy having fun!

so, now it's time for my crieff stall - i'll be there (james square) from 9am on saturday 8th august so please drop by to say 'hi' if you're in the area. here's hoping that today's weather holds until then.

i'll be updating my badly neglected folksy shop on sunday 9th august, so if you miss me at the market you'll be able to see my new range online (if we get some sunshine to allow me to take pics!), i'd love to hear what you think.
